Work Injury
Azouz hand surgery includes two Dallas based hand surgeons who strive to provide the best care for workers who have injuries of the hand, wrist, and elbow. The plastic surgeons are also able to provide care for workers who have injuries throughout the body including injuries of the face, chest and body. The most common work injuries of the hand include cut tendons, arteries and nerves. Crushed nail beds, finger amputations and broken bones are also common work injuries. The doctors are able to coordinate care with a variety of worker’s compensation carriers for both large companies and smaller companies with non-subscriber plans. The Dallas based hand surgeons offer coordination of hand therapy, prosthesis for amputations and return to work. The office commonly coordinates with nurse case managers, worker’s compensation adjusters, and safety officers.

Hand
Hand injuries can be acute or chronic. Cut or crushed hands can occur when operating machinery at work or at home. The Dallas based hand surgeons are able to provide emergent care for traumatic injuries of the hand, body and face (broken noses, cuts of the face, and facial fractures). These include cut nerves, arteries, tendons, finger fractures, wrist fractures, finger dislocations, crushed nail beds and deep hand cuts. Acute or chronic hand conditions treated including: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Ulnar Nerve Compression, De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis, Dupuytren’s Contracture, Trigger Finger, Ganglion Cysts, Mucus Cysts, Hand Infections, Mallet Finger deformity and Arthritis. Wrist
Common wrist conditions include ganglion cysts, De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, cuts, and fractures of the wrist. The Dallas-based hand surgeons commonly take care of patients who have cut their wrists and may have damaged their nerves, arteries, and tendons. Deep cuts and crushes of the wrist can occur at work or at home. Emergency surgery can be coordinated quickly for patients who have suffered traumatic injuries while on the job or at home.

Elbow
Cubital tunnel syndrome and Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) are painful conditions that occur in the elbow. Both conditions can occur occur in the elbow and can be difficult to distinguish. The hand surgeons also care for acute or previous lacerations of the elbow which have caused damage to the musculature, tendons and/or nerves in the elbow.

Dr. David Azouz is a Dallas based hand and plastic surgeon who has been recognized as a top Doctor practicing hand surgery for over 35 years.
Dr. Azouz is a board certified plastic surgeon, former Chief of Plastic Surgery at Medical City Dallas and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Azouz completed a hand and microsurgery fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and is highly experienced in both elective and emergency (traumatic) hand surgery. Dr. Azouz is known for his quick recovery and minimally invasive incisions in patients with carpal tunnel, trigger finger, cubital tunnel and wrist surgeries. Dr. Azouz is fluent in Spanish and French.

Dr. Solomon Azouz
MD, MSC, FACS, FRCS(C)
Dr. Solomon (Sol) Azouz was raised in Dallas and has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University. He obtained his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Dr. Azouz completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Toronto, where he was distinguished for earning the highest examination score in Canada amongst General Surgery residents. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Azouz completed his plastic surgery training at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Dr. Azouz performed a high volume of hand surgery cases in his plastic surgery training. Dr. Azouz has continued to perform a high volume of hand surgery in both the emergency and elective settings. Dr. Solomon Azouz is board certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Azouz is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). Dr. Azouz performs endoscopic and minimally invasive hand surgery for a variety of hand surgery procedures including carpal tunnel and wrist surgery. Dr. Azouz is fluent in spanish.
