What is a nerve tumor of the hand?
A nerve tumor is a growth that develops near a nerve. There are two main types of nerve tumors: benign (non-cancerous) and malignant (cancerous). Benign nerve tumors are not life-threatening and can be removed surgically, especially if they are painful. Malignant nerve tumors are cancerous and are more difficult to treat. Cancerous nerve tumors are considered more dangerous and can sometimes represent a different type of cancer pushing on a nerve. Benign nerve tumors can develop after finger, hand, or wrist nerves are cut. Dallas Hand surgeon Dr. Azouz can treat nerve tumors of the fingers, hands, wrist, forearm, legs, and body.
